Tamannaah Bhatia is a film actress and a model who primarily appears in Telugu and Tamil films. She has also acted in Bollywood movies. Tamannaah has worked with Mumbai's Prithvi Theatre for a year. As a model, she has appeared in various television commercials for brands like Celkon Mobiles and Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap.

She is the daughter of Santhosh Bhatia and Rajani Bhatia. Tamannaah did her schooling in SJR high School, Mumbai. Before appearing in films, she acted for Tamil advertisements such as Shakthi Masala, Power Soap, and Sun Direct.

Debut:

Tamannaah made her acting debut in 2005 with the Bollywood movie 'Chand Sa Roshan Chehra'. She made her Telugu film debut in 2005 by portraying the role of Sandhya in the film 'Sri'. She appeared as Priyanka in her first Tamil movie ‘Kedi’ (2006).

Tamannaah is one of the highest paid actresses in South Indian film industry and she has acted with major actors like Prabhu Deva,  Allu Arjun,  Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Ajay Devgn, etc.
In 2007, Tamannaah acted in two college-life-based drama films which are 'Happy Days' in Telugu and 'Kalloori' in Tamil.
Some of her Tamil movies are Ayan (2009), Paiyaa (2010), Siruthai (2011), and Veeram (2014). Some of Tamannaah's Telugu films are Racha (2012), Bengal Tiger (2015) and Oopiri (2016).
She has acted in the super hit film Baahubali: The Beginning (2015).
Tamannaah has also played a role in Puri Jagannadh's directed Telugu movie 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu' (2012), and this movie got huge commercial success.

 Tamannaah has played the role of a warrior princess called Avanthika in the upcoming movie 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' (2017). 
Ø  The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu honored Tamannaah with Kalaimamani Award in 2010.
Ø  In 2009, she got the South Scope Award for Best Tamil Actress for her role in the movie 'Kanden Kadhalai'.
Ø  In 2011, Tamannaah won two awards for the film 100% Love. These are Hyderabad Times Film Award for Best Actress, and CineMAA Award for Best Telugu Actress.
Ø  In 2013, she got the SIIMA Award for Best Telugu Actress for the film Tadakha.
Ø  In 2016, Tamannaah won the Asiavision Award for Best Tamil Actress for the film Dharma Durai.
