People were assuming and having their guesses and stories, but here we are telling you the real truth behind it. S.S. Rajamouli finally reveals why Kattappa killed Baahubali in the climax of the film.

Who is Kattappa?

Kattappa is Most Honest and Loyal Soldier of the Maheshmati Empire. Kattappa's ancestors promised to Maheshmati Throne till their lives. Kattappa is the Chief of the Armed Forces of Maheshmati Kingdom. He always protects the king by playing on his life as well.
Kattappa is played by Satyaraj.

After the death of Kalakeya by Bhallal Deva killed, the Maheshmati Kingdom was honored by Bahubali. Rajmata Sivagami decided to make King Bahubali because of his love towards public as well.

Baahubali and Bhallal Deva both have fallen in love with a gorgeous lady Devsena (Anushka Shetty).
Both brothers Bhallal Deva and Bahubali wanted to marry Devsena. But Rajmata Shivagami decided that the one who chooses to marry Devsena will have to Leave the Kingdom.
Bahubali Chose to marry Devsena and left the Maheshmati Kingdom and Bhalla Deva leads the kingdom.

Onсе Bаhubаlі lеаvеѕ thе kіngdоm, іt gоеѕ undеr thе аѕѕаult оf сhіld оf Kаlаkеуа Kіng, whісh роwеrѕ Bаhubаlі tо rеturn Mаhіѕhmаtі to save hіѕ kіngdоm. At thаt роіnt, Bhаllаlа Dеvа оrdеrѕ Kаttарра tо еxесutе Bаhubаlі. Kаttарра, whо іѕ undеr thе рrоmіѕе оf соmрlуіng wіth thе rulеr'ѕ rеquеѕt dоеѕ whаt іѕ tоld.

We found this theory little more convincing among all we all heard about the questions.  This is also a fact that this is just an assumption, If you want to know the real reason behind it, please watch the movie releasing on 17th April 2017.
